DESCRIPTION:Join professional wildlife tracker and mountain lion researcher Phil Johnston on February 21 and learn to read the stories of wild animals through tracking. Phil has over a decade of experience teaching tracking and is certified as Senior Tracker through Tracker Certification North America. Come learn to identify the track and sign of the many charismatic creatures who make their living in the Eastern Sierra. \nLocation will be in the Bishop or Big Pine area. Exact meeting location will be emailed the Thursday before the workshop. \nRegistration required. Register at https://eslt.org/event/wildlife-tracking-workshop-7 \nAdults: $40. Children $15. \nPlease note: This workshop is from 9am- 2:30pm. You will be on your feet for the entire time\, often walking over uneven terrain. DESCRIPTION:Join Eastern Sierra Land Trust and the CA Department of Fish and Wildlife for an informative field trip in the Round Valley mule deer herd’s migration corridor. While looking for deer making their annual journey\, wildlife biologist Dan Taylor\, with CDFW\, will lead us on an educational tour of the Round Valley mule deer herd’s winter range and share updates and information on some of the challenges the deer are facing. \nThe Mule Deer Migration Corridor Field Trip is a free\, family-friendly event. Please do not bring dogs\, but do remember to dress for the weather. Light refreshments and snacks will be provided. Binoculars are recommended to view the deer\, but they are not required. The exact meeting location will be emailed in the week before the field trip to those who RSVP.

DESCRIPTION:Join Eastern Sierra Land Trust for an immersive Adobe Valley Wetlands Tour exploring some of the region’s most remarkable protected landscapes. Guided by ESLT staff and conservation partners\, participants will visit Black Lake and Lower Adobe Ranch Preserves\, the River Spring Lakes Ecological Reserve\, and the Antelope Lake conservation easement. Along the way\, you’ll learn about the natural and cultural history of Adobe Valley\, the importance of wetland habitats\, and the diverse plant and wildlife species these special places support. To RSVP\, visit the event page and submit the form. \nWe will conclude the day with a group picnic—please bring your own lunch or something to share. ESLT will provide sides and refreshments. \nPlease Note: Adobe Valley is a unique area in Mono County\, accessed via Highway 120 East of Lee Vining and West of Benton.
