SUMMARY:Bishop 4th of July Celebration
DESCRIPTION:It’s time to celebrate America’s birthday in the Bishop City Park. Together with many amazing community partners\, the Bishop Fire Department is preparing to give Bishop an Independence Day to remember. The entire park will be full of activity throughout the day\, and everyone is invited to join the fun! There will be food vendors\, craft booths\, live music\, beer and wine garden and more. Bring a picnic blanket\, lawn chairs and the whole family for an afternoon celebration. After 9 p.m. tune in to KIBS\, 100.7 FM for synchronized music and look to the sky for the fireworks spectacular\, which will be launched from the east side of the Bishop City Park. Guests are welcome to spread out throughout the park\, in the baseball fields\, or watch from home in the downtown area. \nTIPS FOR A GREAT 4TH IN THE PARK: \n\nCome early\, get a good parking spot\, enjoy the day in the park. Consider walking or biking to the event as parking is limited.\nPicnics okay\, but DO NOT BRING YOUR OWN ALCOHOL. Beer and wine will be available for purchase to be consumed in a designated location (the beer/wine garden will be hosted by Friends of the Tri-County Fair as a fundraiser for facility improvements).\nLeave Fido at home – there’s a no dog ordinance for the park\, plus all dogs hate fireworks.\nNO PERSONAL FIREWORKS ALLOWED.\n\nFireworks\, music and activities are offered free of charge\, but donations are gladly accepted to help offset costs. For more information\, call Bishop City Hall (760) 873-5863. \n

Billed as the “Best Four Days of Summer” it’s packed with contests\, a carnival\, horse shows and western rodeo\, country music concert\, Main St. Parade\, Demolition Derby—the locals’ favorite\, and so much more. Thursday evening sets the tone with a lively Latino music concert featuring well-known artists. Friday night kicks it up with feats of skill and bravery in an All-American Western Rodeo. The Saturday morning Parade is a classic taste of rural Americana. It features school marching bands and cheerleaders\, local celebrities\, horse- and mule‑drawn wagons\, the Bishop Volunteer Fire Department engines and firefighters\, cars\, trucks\, and community members celebrating the life and times of rural California. The fair ends with a bang on Sunday night when the last cars and trucks running in each heat of the Demolition Derby take a well-deserved victory lap. \nThe Fair draws over 25\,000 visitors from around the state and is growing in popularity. It offers an authentic taste of western America in a rural setting that has its roots in pioneering adventure. \n
