Spring is Magical
Spring in the high desert of Bishop’s big backyard is simply magical. Waterfalls cascade down mountain ravines, wildflowers bloom in the desert, roads and trails open at higher elevations, days are warm and sunny, nights are cool and refreshing, and the world is rejuvenated.
Soon freshwater fishing season opens and the lakes and streams at higher elevations beckon anglers from all over. The season is notoriously unpredictable and yet it is famously fun.
Daytime temperatures are pleasantly warm and the hours of daylight increase with each day. The trees and bushes are blossoming and wildflowers can be seen in the fields and alongside streams. There is a sense of rejuvenation and the breeze carries the sweet perfume of life in renewal. A springtime hike in the Owens Valley is pure joy.
Spring is primetime for hiking, biking, fishing, trail running, waterfall adventures, and so many more great outdoor attractions. Go up into the canyons and begin to explore the high country of the magnificent Sierra Nevada.
Spring in Bishop is a wonderful time to get back into the camping groove. Pack up your RV, toss your tent in your car, or just swing your backpack over your shoulders and head to Bishop. There are numerous campgrounds and campsites in, around and near Bishop that offer the gamut from full hookups to boondocking.
