Beer Tour

Countless magazines, newspapers, and media outlets call US 395 one of the most scenic road trip drives in the United States. Following along the Sierra Nevada, the road is the land of -EST. Where you’ll find the highest point in the lower 48, the lowest point in the world, and even the oldest living organisms on the planet. If that isn’t enough, there’s another reason you should do the “Eastern Sierra Tour” – the Eastern Sierra Ale Trail. As you take in the most beautiful sights and sounds of the Eastern Sierra, you can now taste the essence of it in all its breweries. When you visit all six partners and get them to sign off, you’ll earn an Eastern Sierra Ale Trail Patch.

First Stop – Bishop

First stop on the Eastern Sierra Ale Trail from the south – Bishop and Mountain Rambler Brewing. Home to a vast array of award-winning beers from the California Craft Brewers Cup and the Great American Beer Festival. Alongside the fresh brews, you’ll find a seasonal menu of nourishing meals uniting traditional recipes with favorite flavors around the world.

Up Next Mammoth Lakes

From Bishop, you’ll head north to Mammoth Lakes. Here stands the first and oldest brewery in the Eastern Sierra, Mammoth Lakes Brewing. For those that enjoy a dark ale, consider sampling the World Beer Cup gold winner – Double Nut Brown. Then, it’s off to Distant Brewing for a flight of creative small batch concoctions where you never know what you’ll find on one their 20 taps. All you know for sure it will taste awesome. Finally finish it off with something a wee bit stronger than a pint and enjoy a seasonal crafted spirit at Shelter Distilling.

Down The Road To June Lake

A mere thirty minutes away you’ll find a place that has been nicknamed the “Alps of California.” Located in the same region as its name, June Lake Brewing is tucked on a side street in town. Each visit, you’ll be greeted to unique and refreshing takes on beer and ciders you’d never think up. As their motto goes, “We make super awesome beer”, and they definitely do.

Bridgeport The Finisher

Finally, finish off your tour of the Eastern Sierra Trail with a stop at Big Meadow Brewing Company in the center of Bridgeport. You’ll find great bar food alongside frosty pints of Harlot Honey Rye Blonde Ale and Sweetwater Mango.
