Spring is a time of revival. Nature is coming out of its winter slumber. Flowers begin to bloom. Animal’s frolic and the earth re-awakens to life again. This season symbolizes new beginnings. Use this time to restore your soul and dive into a California vacation that will leave you energized and ready to take on the world.

Let Nature Heal You

We all know that being in nature makes us feel good, but does it actually make us better? Numerous studies show that the answer is a resounding, “Yes!” Spending time in nature is linked to both cognitive benefits and improvements in mood, mental health, and emotional well-being. If it’s your first time exploring the outdoors or even your thousandth, here’s a few tips on how to maximize the experience and enjoy them the right way.

Soak Your Way To Bliss

Another way to let the stresses of daily life fade away is by going for a dip in one of our world-renowned hot springs. If you only have an hour or two, visit the Keough Hot Springs for a perfect family outing. Their 100-foot-long pool is kept at a temperature between 86 and 92 degrees (depending on time of year). While an adjacent smaller pool is held at a steamy 104 degrees year-round. Need a long weekend getaway from everything? Book a stay at Benton Hot Springs and get access to a private hot springs pool… all to yourself.

Get Peace Of Mind

Along with nature and soaking in hot springs, another activity you should experience on vacation – Yoga! It’s been scientifically proven to de-stress, relax, AND renew your soul. Help support the local Bishop community by booking a class, massage, or join a wellness workshop at Sierra Shanti. Their story of survival through the pandemic is worth a read!

Feed Your Belly… And Soul

You would guess a small town of less than four thousand in a county with only 17,000 would have a small selection for places to eat. You’d be wrong when it comes to Bishop. You can literally eat your way around the world from hearty Thai dishes to aromatic flavorful coffee roasters. It’s a foodie oasis in the High Desert.

Bishop and its big backyard are the perfect spring getaway to start the season off right by connecting with nature. De-stress with a soak in a hot spring. Detox your body with a yoga session. And of course, feed your body with scrumptious food. We don’t know about you, but that sounds like the perfect vacation to us.
