A Destination for Responsible Storytelling

This is Payahǖǖnadǖ—Place of Flowing Water. Manahüü. Hello.

It is the traditional land of the Nuumu and Newe, today known as the Bishop Paiute Tribe, a sovereign nation in the heart of the Eastern Sierra adjacent to Bishop.

We welcome media professionals who share our commitment to responsible recreation, sustainable tourism, and respect for local communities. Our region adheres to Leave No Trace and Tread Lightly principles, emphasizing minimal impact on the environment and cultural resources.

To provide the most authentic and informative experience, we encourage media professionals to initiate collaboration at least two months prior to their visit. This lead time allows for comprehensive planning and coordination with local experts and community members. Additionally, our partners may have minimum follower requirements for social media accounts to ensure maximum reach and impact of shared stories.

To explore potential hosting or discount opportunities, please submit a letter of assignment outlining your reporting goals and your publication’s press kit, or a statement of opportunity detailing your project and your social media statistics.

We look forward to collaborating with media partners who share our passion for preserving this extraordinary place and telling its stories responsibly.

The Bishop Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to supporting your journey and providing the resources necessary for a successful visit.
