Nature Journaling Workshop at Buckley Ponds
April 27 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Free
Sierra Forever is excited to announce that we will be offering a monthly FREE nature journaling workshop held at a different location in the Eastern Sierra each month.
The April workshop will be on Sunday, April 27 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at Buckley Ponds in Bishop. We will meet by the South Pond fishing platform located at 37.33426, -118.331887. Please note that you do drive a short distance on dirt roads to access this location, but they are graded and accessible to any vehicle.
Whether you’re an avid artist or just starting out, nature journaling is a powerful tool to deepen your observations and connect more intimately with the natural world. In this workshop, we’ll explore techniques for sketching, note-taking, and recording field observations. No prior art or writing experience is necessary—just bring your curiosity!
Supplies will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own sketchbook and favorite supplies if you have them.
Dress in layers, wear sturdy walking/hiking shoes, and practice sun and wind protection by wearing a hoodie, or hat and sunscreen. Bring drinking water and a snack. A camp chair or folding chair is recommended.
Come ready to observe, sketch, and discover the beauty of the Eastern Sierra through journaling! Any questions, please reach out to Michelle at Michelle@sierraforever.org.
