Charlene Redner, a Bishop Paiute Native, will demonstrate the making of Fandango Dresses, a form of traditional Paiute clothing. Call the cultural center for additional information.
Local artist, Robert Piper, Jr. from the Big Pine Paiute Tribe will demonstrate Native American flutes, a traditional Paiute musical instrument for guests.
The Owens Valley Paiute Shoshone Cultural Center is hosting two virtual artist workshops entitled, 5 Uses For Your Artist Portfolio by Great Basin Native Artists (GBNA) founder, Melissa Melero-Moose of the Fallon Paiute-Shoshone Tribe. Part 1 is scheduled for April 6th , and Part 2 is on April 13th, both at 12pm. Experience the cultural traditions of local indigenous peoples at The Owens Valley Paiute Shoshone Cultural Center who hosts this traditional gathering. Experience Native crafts and food booths, enjoy cultural performances, and participate in cultural workshops. Bring lawn chairs. Saturday's activities will occur from 10 AM to 10 PM or so, while Sunday's activities will occur beginning at 10 AM and ending around 1 PM.
Check out the second annual autumn outdoor craft fair at the Cultural Center. Locally made spooktacluar craft items will be available. Food, raffles, cake walks, pumpkin carving contest and a traditional card tournament will also be featured.
