OUTDOOR DINING IN BISHOP, CA

Nearly 300 days of sunshine a year. With only 8 inches of snow and 5 inches of rain annually, it means you can enjoy outdoor dining in Bishop across all four seasons comfortably. All you need to do is understand WHEN to dine outside. Due to its high desert climate, summer days get hot but cool off quickly allowing you to enjoy a dinner. In the winter, nights may get chilly, but the mid-day sun provides a cool backdrop for a lunch, and there really isn’t a bad time to enjoy breakfast. Here’s a few favorite spots for each meal.

Black Sheep Coffee Roasters – Breakfast

Coffee shops are the soul of a mountain town. They provide a place to congregate and plan a day’s adventures. Get the latest goings on and most of all fuel up for your activity. Black Sheep Coffee Roasters is the popular spot for mornings. While the interior is lined with local art, the outdoor seating is truly what locals and visitors enjoy. You’ll find an open-air patio under a beautiful canvas canopy to savor your morning beverage. After two decades, they’re still roasting fresh coffee daily for your consumption alongside the best breakfast burrito in town and the local’s favorite concoction – the Dirty Chai.

Bishop Country Club – Lunch

If there’s a place that’s truly a local’s secret for outdoor dining, it’s the Bishop Country Club. As visitors zip by on their way to see attractions like the Ancient Bristlecone Pines or to go Bouldering, this enclave is a perfect pit stop for lunch. The 19th Hole Bar and Grill is actually located on the 9th green. From here, you get uninterrupted views of the mighty Eastern Sierra along with fantastic scenery. In the summer months, the outdoor seating has a misting system to cool you off, and in the winter, the sun keeps you warm as you enjoy a burger or other classic American fare.

Mountain Rambler Brewery – Dinner

Bishop’s motto is a “small town with a big backyard.” And what do you need to go along with a fun backyard? A patio to celebrate your day of adventuring with a cold pint of local brew! This is where the Mountain Rambler comes in. Serving up ten of its finely crafted beers alongside dishes that are made from scratch with locally grown and sourced ingredients. The menu includes items like Empanadas, sweet potato fries, fresh pizzas, and one helluva good burger.
