Experience the cultural traditions of local indigenous peoples at The Owens Valley Paiute Shoshone Cultural Center who hosts this traditional gathering. Experience Native crafts and food booths, enjoy cultural performances, and participate in cultural workshops. Bring lawn chairs. Saturday's activities will occur from 10 AM to 10 PM or so, while Sunday's activities will occur beginning at 10 AM and ending around 1 PM.
The COSA bird walk is an easy walk around the Bishop Paiute Tribe’s Conservation Open Space Area (COSA, behind the Forest Service building.) The walks are held the second Saturday of every month. October to May walks start at 8:30 am, and from June to September at 7:30 am. Meet behind the U.S. Forest Service/Bureau of Land Management building (351 Pacu Lane, Bishop). A limited supply of binoculars are available.
Eastern Sierra Land Trust (ESLT) and the UC Master Gardeners of Inyo and Mono County will have a Pollinator Garden Inspiration Tour on June 11. Join the tour to get exclusive access to beautiful pollinator-friendly gardens and the chance to ask the gardeners all of your questions about gardening with native plants! Our tour will start in the Bishop Community Garden in Bishop City Park between 9 am and 9:30 am.
