Eastern Sierra Mountain Film Festival

Presented by Eastern Sierra Arts Alliance and Eastern Sierra Interpretive Association. 4 evenings of films in Bishop and Mammoth Lakes focusing on films that represent Mountain Culture, the environment, and the lifestyle of mountain living. Shorts and feature documentaries that educate and enlighten on issues surrounding conservation, human rights, indigenous culture, climate change, endangered species, outdoor sports, and more. This a live 4-day event. Day tickets and all-in-one passes available.

Eastern Sierra Observatory Dark Sky Festival

Bishop, CA, United States

The Eastern Sierra Observatory will host a California Dark Sky Festival October 12th through October 15th in Panamint Valley.  The event will feature huge telescopes, lectures, photography workshops, a food truck, a giant chess set, camping onsite under dark skies and more.

Solar Eclipse Viewing Event

Alabama Hills National Scenic Area Bishop, CA, United States

On October 14th, the solar eclipse will start at approximately 8:06 am, peak at 9:23 am, and end at 10:48 am in the Eastern Sierra, with 80% coverage of the sun, creating dusk-like conditions. Join an ESIA interpretive specialist for a talk and witness one of the celestial events of the year! 9 am: Mobius Arch Trailhead Parking, Alabama Hills. Solar glasses and an eclipse projector will be provided for viewing, paired with a short talk about the phenomenon.

Eastern Sierra History Conference
