Mule Days
May 22nd – 27th, 2024
At its heart, the event is a tribute to the dependable and resilient mule. Over five days across every Memorial Day weekend, Bishop welcomes over 30,000 fans from across the nation (and around the globe) to this lively and vibrant festival. Starting in 1969 as a kick-off for local packers and outfitters to launch the summer season, it has evolved into a cherished tradition. Eastern Sierra Tri-County Fair
August 29th – September 1st, 2024
A fun family affair with a whole host of fabulous events, live music, exhibits, and activities. A good ol’ fashioned rodeo with bull riding to mutton bustin’. It’s 1000’s of homemade & homegrown exhibits to BMX shows to baking contests to the Turkey Stampede. The highlight of the entire weekend though is the Destruction Derby. Millpond Music Festival
September 20th – 22nd, 2024
Every year in September for more than three decades, an eclectic lineup of bands, singers, and performers descend upon the Millpond Recreation Area for the Millpond Music Festival. This isn’t just another great music festival but a tradition for festival goers and locals alike. Along with the music, you can also take in another star of the season – Eastern Sierra’s fall foliage. Tickets are on sale now!
Highball Craggin’ Classic Climbing Festival
October 18th – 20th, 2024
Towards the end of October, the American Alpine Club hosts a thrilling 3-day climbing festival, attracting climbers of all levels to the birthplace of modern gymnastic bouldering. Started over a decade ago with local climbers yearning to clean up the Buttermilks and enjoy some brews with friends, since then the Craggin’ has blossomed. Anticipate an array of activities including films, climbing clinics, slideshows, games, gear displays, local brews, and good times.

Fishing isn’t just a hobby in the Eastern Sierra but a lifestyle. So it should come as no surprise that there’s a multitude of fishing derbies, and the pinnacle being the Blake Jones Fishing Derby. The largest in the state of California, it offers nearly $10,000 in cash and prizes. The event features a blind bogey format with categories for adults and kids of all ages. Prizes range from recognition for the farthest-traveled angler to the catch of the day.
