The Bishop Trout Rodeo is coming back to Bishop! This is a catch and release event brought to you by the Southwest Council Fly Fishers International. We're lucky to have California fishing open year-round in Bishop, and we're going to celebrate with the second annual mid-winter trout rodeo! This will be a trout tournament for both fly fishers and conventional fishers. The Bishop Chamber of Commerce has been very supportive in bringing this event to our area. Pleasant Valley Reservoir and the Owens River will be the focus of the fishing.
Sign up 6:00-8:00am at Diaz Lake. Derby starts at 6:30am. Fish until 3PM weigh-in. $15.00 General Admission. Kids 11 years and under are FREE with paid adult. Gardner’s True Value and Lone Pine Rocks and Gifts are sponsoring a $800.00 Blind Bogey. This trout derby is made possible through Inyo County, donations of our members and business owners and hard work of our local volunteers.
Two half-day sessions will teach kids ages 6-12 the fundamentals of fly fishing at Bishop City Park.
Kids can fish for rainbow trout at the historic Mount Whitney Fish Hatchery Pond in Independence.
Father's day weekend fishing tradition!
