Sign up 6:00-8:00am at Diaz Lake. Derby starts at 6:30am. Fish until 3PM weigh-in. $15.00 General Admission. Kids 11 years and under are FREE with paid adult. Gardner’s True Value and Lone Pine Rocks and Gifts are sponsoring a $800.00 Blind Bogey. This trout derby is made possible through Inyo County, donations of our members and business owners and hard work of our local volunteers.
Two half-day sessions will teach kids ages 6-12 the fundamentals of fly fishing at Bishop City Park.
The Tri-County Fairgrounds is bringing the heat for Cinco de Mayo weekend with chili, cars, and cervezas!
Kids can fish for rainbow trout at the historic Mount Whitney Fish Hatchery Pond in Independence.
Come check out the California High School Rodeo Finals where these youngsters give it all to win the championship in the classic rodeo events!

She was made from steel and she was known as The Slim Princess. This princess was a narrow-gauge railway and she ran from Carson City, Nevada, to Keeler, a bustling mining town on the shores of the now-dry Owens Lake. The 2024 Blake Jones Trout Derby is set for Saturday, March 23rd in Bishop! Every year, nearly $10,000 worth of cash and prizes are awarded including float tubes, rods & reels, gift certificates to local shops and restaurants and more. The Blake Jones derby is a blind bogey format with categories for adults and kids of all ages. In addition to the blind bogey awards, there will be prizes for early bird registrations, farthest travel, biggest fish, even prizes for those who don’t catch any fish or choose to catch & release.
