The City of Bishop and Friends of the Fair are bringing back the very popular Downtown Bishop Markets this summer. This free event features live music and lots of local craftspeople, artisans, products of the region, food booths, beer/cocktails, local produce, farmer's market and fun for the whole family! The Lone Pine Half Marathon & 10K benefits John Wayne Cancer Foundation, so every step you take helps advance the fight against cancer through pioneering cancer research and programs. The parade begins 4:30 pm at High Country Lumber and heads north on Main Street, ending at Bishop City Park for the official tree lighting ceremony at 5:30 pm.

Trout Rodeo is returning to Bishop! This will be the 4th time for this catch and release event, open to fly and conventional gear, in the Owens Valley. Depending on weather, you could be fishing from the Upper O all the way to Lone Pine! Same rules as before so bring your friends, club members and anyone else who likes a fun competition. The 2024 Blake Jones Trout Derby is set for Saturday, March 23rd in Bishop! Every year, nearly $10,000 worth of cash and prizes are awarded including float tubes, rods & reels, gift certificates to local shops and restaurants and more. The Blake Jones derby is a blind bogey format with categories for adults and kids of all ages. In addition to the blind bogey awards, there will be prizes for early bird registrations, farthest travel, biggest fish, even prizes for those who don’t catch any fish or choose to catch & release.
